5.2. PERIODIC CLEANING BY A SPECIALISED

TECHNICIAN

5.2.1. Cleaning of the heat exchanger

Halfway through the winter, but especially in the spring, you will

need to clean the compartment where discharge smoke passes.

This cleaning must

be done in order to remove all combustion residues

before time and humidity let them harden and make them difficult to

remove.

CLEANING OF HEAT EXCHANGER:

With the stove cold remove the cast iron top “A”, remove the sides as

indicated in. Section 3.3.

Remove the two screws to the right and left (F) so that it is possible to

dismantle the front cast iron top (D).

At this point dismantle the exchanger C (unscrewing the screws) and

access the inspection hole for cleaning (see arrow): Using a rod or a

bottle cleaner, scrape the furnace walls in order to make the ash fall

into the lower ash compartment. Clean and refit all the components

using a new front gasket (E).

With the stove cold remove the cast iron top, remove the sides as

shown in. Section 3.3.

Take out the cast iron front top (D) and dismantle the exchanger (C)

(unscrewing the screws). Access the inspection hole for cleaning (see

arrow): Using a rod or a bottle cleaner, scrape the furnace walls in

order to make the ash fall into the lower ash compartment. Clean and

refit all the components using a new front gasket (E).

Unscrew the screws that block the supports of top “B” and remove the

cast iron grid “D”. Lift the hopper cover “C” and remove the black

screws that block it to the structure. Disassemble the back “E” by

unscrewing all the upper and lower screws. Remove the upper

protection “F” by unscrewing the screws fastened to the hopper back

and those fixed on the side uprights. Unscrew the nut located in the

end fork of the adjustment lever “G” and lift the upper cladding “H” by

unscrewing the black screws that secure it to the side cladding.

Disassemble the exchanger “I” by unscrewing the screws that block it

to the structure. Access the inspection hole for cleaning (see dotted

arrow): Using a rod or a bottle cleaner, scrape the furnace walls in

order to make the ash fall into the lower ash compartment. Clean and

refit all the components using a new front gasket “J”.
